Tweeds, Owls, and Applications!

Some new silk blends are on the way as we start to fill our shelves for cool and slinky spring projects, but in the meantime we just got in some new beautiful tweed and solid wools, many of which are fairly thick and suitable for building up to a bulky/chunky weight, so you can take the opportunity to squeeze in one final cozy winter project before the temp really starts to warm up! (Take it from someone who likes to wear skirts at least 3 days a week, the beautiful sunshine we've had this past week can be deceiving...)

My new fave that I've been working on lately is the Owls sweater, which I've been working up in an unnaturally (for me) solid blend of wool and bamboo, and I'm loving it! I'm done with the sleeves and the body of the sweater so far, and am about to start on the owls and yoke.

My other favorite project right now will have to remain a secret, as I think its future recipient may be a reader of this blog, but pictures and info will be forthcoming in due time.

And finally, a quick announcement:
Urban Craft Uprising, Seattle's largest indie craft show, is planning its very first summer show! It'll be everything you love about the famous annual winter show, plus some new exciting perks! Applications just went up on their website this week, and whether you're a seasoned vendor, or a burgeoning crafter wanting to take a shot at your first big show, this is definitely one to try for! Applications can be filled out online at http://www.urbancraftuprising.com/SummerForm2009.html.
