That's right...and my days have been spent over at the store--working in the back office while I wind the 300 pounds of yarn that I've amassed for opening weekend! The last few days though I've been tapering off of the transcription and doing more prepwork.
This is how my mornings begin:

Then staining and varnishing....(the creel that the input fibers wind off of; and a cool spool display where I'm going to put the pre-made yarn!)

And yesterday Jason dropped off my handmade shelves--custom bulit to hold 7" tall cones of yarn! Of course, this week it drops below freezing for the first time all year, while I have the door wide open for ventilation while I'm varnishing them. These were a store housewarming present from my Dad...

And this was a store housewarming present from my mom. If you're going to be buying yarn by the pound you've got to have a good scale!

holy cow. I SO can't wait to move to portland now. Like I needed another reason but what a fantastic concept. Congrats, and I hope your grand opening is a huge success!
hmmmmmm a yarn candy store, could be dangerous to the pocketbook. I'm so going to be there!
I can't wait to come and check out your store! Will you have samples of some of the possible combinations for those of us with limited imaginations? The store looks beautiful.
Indeed I will have some samples to spark some inspiration...in fact, in between getting the store all ready to go for Saturday, I'm in the midst of knitting up dozens of swatches so you can see what the different fibers will look and feel like when at a heavier weight, as well as the premade cones I will have for sale, so you can see what they look like both on and off the cone.
Thanks so much to everyone for the support and good wishes, before the store's even open! Can't wait to meet you all.
Oh wow! I am only 3 hours north of you but hey, a road trip is not too bad! Can't wait to stop in and check you out!

Good Luck! I think you've chosen wisely Trish from Tanglewood Fiber Creations- the other end of the yarn price spectrum...LOL
